Bastrop, LA - A group of local dads have started what they deemed the #MeThree movement “just for fun.”
Spearheading the group is self-proclaimed dad comedian, Jayme McElrath. “Me and some of my buddies were hanging out on our lawnmowers drinking sweet tea when we came up with the idea. Rob was talking about how tired he was of hearing about the me too movement, and Dexter was like, ‘haha, me too!’ and I was like, ‘me three!”
Since coming up with the epic dad joke, the trio started a hashtag on Twitter that quickly exploded into movement status. Dads around the world have flocked to the dad-ism, using it to fight the tyranny of those who oppose corny jokes and cargo shorts.
“We’re people, too,” elaborated McElrath, “From our floppy hats down to our white New Balances, we bleed red like anyone else. We just want the world to stop shaming our dad bods and telling us classic rock isn’t the greatest music ever made. This is how we stick it to the man, or maybe the woman. I don’t know.”
During the interview, a group of local teenage girls came out to protest against the men and their movement. One of the girls yelled out, “We’re sick of this!” In unison, the men retorted with, “Hi, Sick of This, I’m dad!”
