Dems, GOP Clash Over What Kind Of Lego Building To Make

Washington, DC - In a shocking twist, Republican and Democrat senators are having a difficult time agreeing about what to do. This time the argument centers around which type of Lego fort they should build together.

It all started with a fated playdate in their Uncle Joe’s playroom. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D. NY) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R. KY) assembled their usual friend groups and started clashing immediately. The Republicans suggested that “D” stood “doodie-head” and the Democrats fired back that “R” meant “really stupid”.

Fighting broke out when the foundation on which they should build was called into question. Several feelings were hurt and feet injured as Lego bricks began to be hurled from both sides. Chuck led his group in a chorus of “Everything is Awesome!” and Mitch’s crew sang over them with “Everything’s Not Awesome”.

While Chuck continues to push for a three-story structure that would house multiple Lego figurines, Mitch insists that such a building would require more bricks than are currently available. He supports building a much smaller fort that will not use all of the resources, but will also not accommodate all of the figurines. With naptime looming, neither side seems willing to budge.

Both cliques state that they would rather not make anything at all than to compromise their visions for the building. And it seems likely that that is exactly what will happen. Events like this beg the questions - Is our current playdate system sustainable? Should we allow another group to participate? Should we disband the playdate altogether?

Mitch and his group seem to be in favor of shutting down the playdate for a while instead of trying to work things out. Chuck, however, believes that even if nothing ever gets built, the playdate should continue. He is also in talks with his mother about the purchase of another bucket of Legos to meet the demand and allow him to achieve his goals. Negotiations are ongoing at this time.
