Santa Monica, CA - In their witch-hunt of racially problematic episodes of old TV shows, Hulu happened upon an episode of 90s sitcom “Family Matters” where black patriarch Carl Winslow wore whiteface. The episode has been removed from the platform.

Actor Reginald VelJohnson, who played Winslow, defended himself, claiming it was just a slapstick moment where Steve Urkel accidentally poured flour all over Carl. “It was never meant to be offensive. It was just a goofy moment that was being taken out of context.”

VelJohnson has been asking to be cancelled for a while now, though, according to a former agent. “Positively portraying a police officer in multiple roles and playing a wholesome family patriarch put him on the radar years ago. And let’s not even talk about the fact that he had a role in ‘Hart of Dixie.”

A Hulu spokesperson announced that it is likely that “Family Matters” will be pulled from the platform altogether due to its theme of nuclear family values. It was also recently pointed out that a gospel song was sung at the end of the first episode.

When asked to comment, Urkel actor Jaleel White asked, “Did I do that?”, and everyone laughed.
